• There is an early dismissal on Wednesday, October 15. School will dismiss at 12:35.
• There is no school on Thursday, October 16 and Friday, October 17.

PARENT NEWS:

• We had quite a week last week at St. Dominic!  ELC Pancake Breakfast, collection for Feed My Starving Children totaling $989!, a field trip to the NASA Exhibit at St. Olaf, and the Marathon on Friday!  Our Marathon total so far is $19,537.05.  THANK YOU to the entire St. Dominic Community for sharing time, talent, and financial gifts with us!  It truly was an amazing week.  Thank you to the PSA for organizing the entire event!
• Save the date…The Family Fun Committee is busy planning this year’s Bingo/Potluck night for Friday, October 24. We are looking for donations of small items to be used as bingo prizes.  Items may be brought to the school office any time before the event.  Thank you for your help in supporting this event.  Look for more information coming soon about this fun family evening.
• Classroom Auction Projects: It’s time to start thinking about the St. Dominic School Auction again!  This year’s auction is being held on Saturday, Feb. 21st. The Auction Committee is looking for parent volunteers to help with classroom projects for this year’s auction.  Each classroom creates an item for the auction and also puts together a themed basket.  Ideas for these projects are available.  For more information or to volunteer, please contact Julie Lawrence (Pre – 3rd) at kelpiedog@northfieldwifi.com or 645-0095 and Kristin Shimek (4th – 7th) at kristinshimek@yahoo.com or 645-2882.
• Campbell’s Labels for Education will have another Bonus Collection Sheet in this weekend’s coupon insert.  Please save it even if you do not have all the correct UPCs.  It should be in the Northfield and Faribault News and the Mpls. Star-Tribune.  Remember, Campbell’s LFE only accepts UPCs, no more front labels.
• Kwik Trip Gift Cards are available to purchase in the school’s office. Twenty percent of your purchase goes to school.
• The first Aluminum Can collection will continue to be the second Tuesday of each month.  Questions?  E-mail or call the school office. 
• Thank you to our Northfield Volunteer Firefighters for coming to St. Dominic School for Fire Prevention Week on Tuesday!  
• Parent-Teacher Conferences are planned for the evenings of Monday, November 3 and Thursday, November 6.  More details will be coming within 1-2 weeks. 
• The 7^th graders are having a Coat Drive from October 6 – November 4.  Please bring in your gently used, washed, children’s coats and put them in the bin next to the cafeteria doors.  We will donate them to the Northfield Community Action Center.
