PARENT NEWS:
- What is Special Guest Day? Special Guest Day is a day for students to invite a special person with whom to celebrate Mass, visit the school, and share lunch. Should it be a grandparent? It is completely up to your family, but we will be planning a Grandparents’ Day in the spring. More questions? Give the school a call, and we will be glad to help. Please see the enclosed information for more details.
- Clothing orders were sent home last Friday. In this week’s communication envelope, is your order form. Compare your order and your form and let the office know if there are any errors. Thank you.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences are planned for the evenings of Monday, November 3 and Thursday, November 6. Pleases complete the enclosed conference form choosing 1st and 2nd choices of times to meet with teachers. Return the form by Wednesday, October 29th. Your times will be confirmed October 30th. First choices are usually accommodated.
- Save the date…The Family Fun Committee is busy planning this year’s Bingo/Potluck night for Friday, October 24. We are looking for donations of small items to be used as bingo prizes. Items may be brought to the school office any time before the event. Thank you for your help in supporting this event. Information regarding this night was sent home in last week’s packet.
- Classroom Auction Projects: It’s time to start thinking about the St. Dominic School Auction again! This year’s auction is being held on Saturday, Feb. 21st. The Auction Committee is looking for parent volunteers to help with classroom projects. Each classroom creates an item for the auction and also puts together a themed basket. Ideas for these projects are available. - The 7th graders are having a Coat Drive from October 6 – November 4. Please bring in your gently used, washed, children’s coats and put them in the bin next to the cafeteria doors. They will be donated to the Northfield Community Action Center.

- Reminder to Preschool Parents: Preschool screening is required for all children entering Kindergarten in Minnesota. This is provided free of charge. If your child has NOT been screened, please call Mary at Longfellow School: 507-645-1200 to schedule an appointment or if you have questions about the screening process.
