PARENT NEWS:

• Each day, our school website continues to be updated.  We apologize for the delay but fully expect to provide this as a major tool for communication from this point forward.  Thank you to Kari Kobilka Scheurer for taking on this unknowing challenge! 
• It’s time for BASKETBALL! Within 4^th-7^th grade classrooms, students have had a chance to express their interest in the upcoming basketball season.  At this time, we would like to make sure the wishes of the students match the wishes of their parents regarding sign up….  Please notify the office or touch base with your 4^th-7^th grade child.  Thanks! 
• Referees and coaches wanted: We are looking for parents to ref some of the St. Dominic basketball games; and volunteers to help coach 4^th / 5^th grade boys and 4^th / 5^th girls basketball teams.  If you are interested, or know of someone who might be, please contact Cathy Kowalewski at cathykowalewski@churchofstdominic.org or 645-4978.
• Special Guest day is just around the corner! If you have not returned the lunch form, please do so ASAP, as a successful lunch very much relies on an accurate count of guests.  Questions about this day?  Contact the school office by phone or e-mail.  The day begins with Mass at 10 am and lunch following, if you choose. 
• Halloween parties and celebrations may vary from classroom to classroom, so tune in to individual teachers for details.  School-wide, we ask that you use your best judgment in costumes and accessories that are sent to school. 
• Parent-Teacher Conferences are planned for the evenings of Monday, November 3 and Thursday, November 6.  Please complete the conference form choosing 1^st and 2^nd choices of meeting times.  Return the form by Wednesday, October 29^th.  Your times will be confirmed October 30^th.  First choices are usually accommodated.
• The Family Fun Bingo and Potluck is Friday, October 24, 5:30 – 7:30.

Last names beginning with A – K should bring a salad or side dish.

Last names beginning with L – R should bring a dessert.

Last names beginning with S – Z should bring a main dish.

• The 7^th graders are having a Coat Drive from October 6 – November 4.  Please bring in your gently used, washed, children’s coats and put them in the bin next to the cafeteria doors.  They will be donated to the Northfield Community Action Center.
• A volunteer in needed in the Art Room on Tuesdays (or as many Tuesdays as possible) from 12:50 – 1:30 while the Kindergarteners are exploring the world of art.  This person does not need to be a Kindergarten parent.  Please contact the office if you have any questions.
• Bonus Box Tops Collection Sheets from Target are due back by Wednesday, 10/28.
• Photo Re-takes will be Monday, October 27.  Preschoolers who did not have their picture taken in September will have the opportunity to have them taken on Monday.

STUDENT NEWS:

• The-end-of-the-quarter popcorn party will be Friday, November 14th.  Students may bring a beverage of their choice to enjoy with the popcorn at the party.
