PARENT NEWS:

• There is no school on Friday, November 7. 
• Referees and coaches wanted: We are looking for parents to ref some of the St. Dominic basketball games; and volunteers to help coach 4^th / 5^th grade boys and 4^th / 5^th girls basketball teams.  If you are interested, or know of someone who might be, please contact Cathy Kowalewski at cathykowalewski@churchofstdominic.org or 645-4978.
• Halloween parties and celebrations may vary from classroom to classroom, so tune in to individual teachers for details.  School-wide, we ask that you use your best judgment in costumes and accessories that are sent to school. 
• Parent-Teacher Conferences are planned for the evenings of Monday, November 3 and Thursday, November 6.  Look for your confirmed times in this communication packet.
• Thank you to the Family Fun Committee for a great event on Friday night!  The kids had a tremendous time!
• The 7^th graders are having a Coat Drive from October 6 – November 4.  Please bring in your gently used, washed, children’s coats and put them in the bin next to the cafeteria doors.  They will be donated to the Northfield Community Action Center.
• Moms In Touch will be hosting a gathering on December 3 from 8-9 am in the school cafeteria.  Save the date and plan to come and learn more about their group!
• Kids Voting: Northfield is participating in the Kids Voting initiative and encourage you to take your child to vote next week!  The winners of the poster contest were respectively 1^st and 2^nd place:  K-2 – Madison Rice, Josephine Ramirez, 3-5 – Hannah Pahs, Anna Balfany, 6-8 – Katy Langer, Maddie Guyott.
• We welcome back Eileen Shimota as our temporary Marketing Coordinator! She will typically be working on Thursdays, and her focus will be on marketing initiatives and alumni.  She can be reached at eileenshimota@churchofstdominic.org.
• Watch for information regarding the Athletic Program’s Fundraiser:  Mexican Buffet.  It will be November 18^th in the O’Gara Social Hall.
• Lost and found: Please take some time during your conferences to check the lost and found tables set up outside the school’s office.  Thank you.

STUDENT NEWS:

• The-end-of-the-quarter popcorn party will be Friday, November 14th.  Students may bring a beverage of their choice to enjoy with the popcorn at the party.

REMINDERS:

• Magazine Drive will be beginning November 12.  Ask friends and family to save their subscriptions.
