PARENT NEWS:

• No School Wednesday, 11/26, Thursday, 11/27, or Friday, 11/28.  Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
• There is a 2 hour late start on Wednesday, December 3.
• Northfield’s Winter Walk is Thursday, December 4^th.  We have been invited to carol at Bridge Square from 6 – 6:30.  Unfortunately, Lorilee cannot be there.  Therefore, we are looking for a parent (or 6) to help lead the singing.  Taped music can be arranged if it is needed.  Thank you in advance for your spirit of giving.
• We are still in need of a boy’s basketball coach for 4^th & 5^th grade.  If you, or someone you know, might be interested, please contact Cathy Kowalewski at cathykowalewski@churchofstdominic.org.   
• Magazine Drive kick-off began November 12.  The second collection day is Tuesday 11/25, the third and final collection day is 12/3.  Please refer to your child’s magazine packet for details. 
• A “Moms in Touch” Coffee is planned for Wednesday, Dec. 10^th. “Moms in Touch” is a small group of women that meet to pray for our school, children, and staff.   They meet on Wed. mornings from 8:00 to 9:00 in the church basement, although the time we meet can be flexible. Come on the 10^th and learn more about the wonderful things that we do.
• Open Gym will begin this Saturday, November 22 from 9 – 10:30. St. Dominic students in grades 4 – 7 and their older siblings may participate.  Students can play in scrimmages, play Lightning contests, practice shooting and learn more about the sport of basketball.  Mike Kowalewski is running the gym.
• For the safety of the children, please do not drive through the school’s driveway during recess times.  Morning recess runs from 9:45 – 10:00; second recess is 11:25 – 11:45.  Please park on Spring Street or St. Olaf Avenue.
• Thank you to Pat and Tammy Winter for preparing the Mexican Buffet.  It was wonderful!
• You are invited to join the 6^th grade class in their Advent Project. Please donate hats, mittens, and scarves during the season of Advent.  All donations will be taken to Caring and Sharing Hands in Minneapolis.  There will be a “Mitten Tree” located in the hallway for students to drop off items.  Thank you so much.

STUDENT NEWS:

• Christmas Caring and Sharing Program is accepting donations of new, unwrapped gifts.  There are drop-off boxes at our school.  The boxes will be here until Monday, December 8^th.
• The 7^th Grade service project of the Thanksgiving Food Drive will run through November 25. 
• The winner of the Natalie Perry Smead Scholarship will be announced at school Friday.

REMINDERS:

• A Refereeing Clinic will be held at our school’s gym on Tuesday, December 2^nd from 7 – 8 pm.  This is for anyone interested in referring St. Dominic basketball games. 

LITURGY SCHEDULE:

• The children in Grade 4 will coordinate the November 20 mass.
• December 4^th mass will be coordinated by Grade 3.
