PARENT NEWS:

  • Family Photos Needed:  To help connect families to one another at St. Dominic School the Family Fun Committee would like to display each family’s photo with your names on the board across from the school office in the month of January. Please submit a 4×6 photo (approx.) with everyone’s name written on the back to Jane in the office before Christmas break. (A casual snapshots or extra Christmas card photo will work fine.)
  • Please remember Lorena when you are Christmas shopping.  She is paid only a small stipend, so it would be wonderful if we could share our Christmas spirit.  She may need some warm clothing to help her through this season!
  • Northfield’s Winter Walk is TONITE, December 4th.  We have been invited to carol at Bridge Square from 6 – 6:30.
  • A “Moms in Touch” Coffee is planned for Wednesday, Dec. 10th. “Moms in Touch” is a small group of women that meet to pray for our school, children, and staff.   They meet on Wed. mornings from 8:00 to 9:00 in the church basement, although the time we meet can be flexible. Come on the 10th and learn more about the wonderful things that we do.
  • For the safety of the children, please do not drive through the school’s driveway during recess times.  Morning recess runs from 9:45 – 10:00; second recess is 11:25 – 11:45.  Please park on Spring Street or St. Olaf Avenue.
  • Morning Drop Off: We are getting closer and closer to having everyone on board with our drop-off plan in the morning.  A couple of reminders:  Wait your turn in the drop lane before exiting and please only drop on the tar area.  Thank you for your efforts to keep everyone safe!

STUDENT NEWS:

  • You are invited to join the 6th grade class in their Advent Project. Please donate hats, mittens, and scarves during the season of Advent.  All donations will be taken to Caring and Sharing Hands in Minneapolis.  There will be a “Mitten Tree” located in the hallway for students to drop off items.  Thank you so much.
  • Christmas Caring and Sharing Program is accepting donations of new, unwrapped gifts.  There are drop-off boxes at our school.  The boxes will be here until Monday, December 8th.
  • The winner of the Natalie Perry Smead Scholarship is Audrey Kornkven.  Her winning entry will be hanging across from the Principal’s office.  Congratulations Audrey!

REMINDERS:

  • Open Gym will be Saturdays from 9 – 10:30. St. Dominic students in grades 4 – 7 and their older siblings may participate.  Students can play in scrimmages, play Lightning contests, practice shooting and learn more about the sport of basketball.  Mike Kowalewski is generously volunteering his time to organize and supervise these sessions.
