PARENT NEWS:
- Enclosed in last week’s communication envelope, there was a Catholic Schools Week mass sign-up sheet. If you have not completed and returned it, please do so or call in with your preference. Thank you, if you already have returned it.
- Auction update: the donation deadline has been extended until Feb. 2.
- PSA Charities will again be donating autographed pictures of famous people or groups (athletes, music groups, TV show casts) to the St. Dominic Auction on Feb 21. When these pictures are sold, St. Dominic School receives 30% of the profit. We are soliciting requests for specific people or any groups you would like to see at the auction (i.e. Adrian Peterson, the Minnesota Wild, Hannah Montana, Bruce Springsteen). Please email any suggestions to Mark Labenski at labenski@charter.net. It seems like they can get just about anyone!
- Enclosed is information for our school’s Athletic Pancake Breakfast on February 1st.
- Library volunteer needed: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11:30 – 2:30 from now until the end of the school year. Please contact Kim Bobert, Librarian, (507.263.3672) with any questions or interest you may have.
- Catholic Schools Week will kick off with a pep fest on Friday, January 23. The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a free-throw contest on Sunday, Jan 25th. More exciting events are planned for the entire week. Watch for all the details.
- The Family Fun Committee invites you to join us for the celebration of Catholic Schools Week. Pizza, Open Gym, Movie and Popcorn will be enjoyed on Friday, January 30th at 5:30 pm at St. Dominic School. If you are able to join us please RSVP by Monday, January 26th to Mark Borene at 650-4688 or email mborene@hotmail.com.
STUDENT NEWS:
- Open Gym will be Saturdays from 9:30 – 11:00. St. Dominic students in grades 4 – 7 and their older siblings may participate.
STAFF NEWS:
- On Friday, January 9, we gathered together to sing a blessing to Becky McGillivray, our Kindergarten Teacher. Becky had surgery on Tuesday and will be recovering for 4-6 weeks. Therese Kitzman will be substituting until Becky returns. Thank you, Mrs. Kitzman for stepping in! Please keep Becky in your prayers!
NOTES FROM THE NURSE:
- Scoliosis screening will be on Tuesday, January 20th for grades 5 – 7.
LITURGY SCHEDULE:
- The 6th grade will be leading us in worship on Thursday, January 22 at 8:20 a.m.
- Multiple grades will be coordinating Mass on Thursday, January 29 at 8:20 a.m. This is Catholic Schools Week.
- Students and their families will be asked to participate in the weekend Masses on January 24/25. This will be a kick-off for Catholic Schools Week. Thank you in advance for your participation!
