The 5th Grade Class talked about how we want our classroom to look, sound and feel.  Here is what we believe as a class:

Look

People smiling / having fun

Tidy

Hard Working Students

Sound

Quiet

Peaceful

“Working Noise Level”

Laughing

Feel

Everyone is Nice

That time flies

Peaceful

Warm

Everyone Gets Along

Welcoming

We talked as a class that if someone chooses not to participate in or cooperate with the agreed upon beliefs, they will be asked to “take a break” and reflect on why the class chose to believe these things.  They will then rejoin the class and continue as normal.  If there needs to be something “fixed” the student and the teacher will discuss ways that they could “fix” whatever was “broken”.  If the principal or parents need to be contacted or involved, I will contact them at that time.  Please discuss the details of these beliefs with your 5th Grader; this is how we chose to run our classroom this year.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
